What is a NovaThread Lift?

NovaThreads are absorbable sutures that are placed in the body such as the face to lift sagging skin or to act as a filler. These sutures have been used in cardiovascular surgery and other types of surgeries for many decades. The NovaThread is specially modified so that it can create an instant lift or volume or structure. They are FDA approved.

Where are NovaThreads Used?

Most commonly they are used lift skin in the mid and lower face such as reducing jowls, smile lines, and marionette lines as well as tightening the neck. They can be used to lift the eyebrow. In many patients, they can be used in combination with Botox and fillers to create an optimal minimally invasive refreshed look.

How is the NovaThread Lift Procedure Performed?

Dr. Gladstone uses local anesthesia and maps out where lifting and tightening can provide beneficial results.

How Long Does the NovaThread Lift Procedure Take?

It depends on how many areas are being lifted or filled. Generally one hour or less—which is why it is also known as the Lunchtime Lift.

When Would I See Results After a NovaThread Lift?

The results are immediate.

What is the downtime After a NovaThread Lift?

Since there is no cutting and the threads are placed through small needles, you may get some mild bruising and swelling. Makeup can cover the bruising, and the swelling usually resolves within 2 days. Many patients go back to work the day following the procedure.

How Long Do the Results Last?

In most patients, from 12-15 months.
