Brow Lifts
Eyebrows help define the upper third of your face. They anchor your eyes—the windows to your soul. A woman’s gentle arching brow underscores her femininity and strength. A man’s properly positioned eyebrows emphasize his sincerity and determination.
What are the Different Types of Brow Lifts?
There are several types of browlifts ranging from the noninvasive and temporary Botox® and fillers to longer lasting noninvasive devices and invasive surgical browlifts. Browlifts can be performed with upper eyelid blepharoplasties in order to stabilize the brow, or as a solo procedure. There advantages and disadvantages to each browlift technique.
Dr. Gladstone performs several types of browlifts and has found that the most effective combine a non-invasive device with a surgical pretrial (incisions at the hairline) approach. In some men with forehead creases, a mid-forehead lift combined with a noninvasive device may be the most effective.
What is the Recovery Period for Brow Lifts?
These procedures are performed with local anesthesia and oral sedation. With the less invasive browlifts, there may be little-to-no downtime, but with a surgical pre-trichal browlift, there can be one week of down time, though there may be some residual swelling for up to a month. A Botox® browlift may only last 4 months while if a filler is used, it may last 6-9 months. When the pretrichial surgical browlift is combined with a noninvasive lift, the results may last up to 3-5 years.
